Larry Webster

Technical Director

Larry Webster came to CAR and DRIVER while still attending college at Lehigh University. His ability to keep awake during classes was waning, and he needed a reason to continue torturing himself with the engineering curriculum. So he convinced Andre Idzikowski, Road Test Editor, to let him wash cars, do office errands, and wait on the editors hand and foot for a summer. Apparently, they were not impressed with his job performance because after graduation in 1992, only a similar Road Warrior job was available. Later on, Webster was made Technical Editor, where he got to do the real fun—track-testing cars. He stuck around long enough to be moved into the Technical Director position. His interests include racing his 1988 CRX in SCCA events, mountain biking, and tinkering with cars, and even more important, spending time with his wife and son.
