Acceptable File Formats
The following digital file types are considered optimum. Each of the preferred formats are acceptable for full or partial pages.
1. TIFF/IT P1-CT should be 12 res (304.8 dpi). LW should be 72 res (1828.8 dpi. Files should be linear, without dot-gain compensation.
2. PDF or PDF/X-1 (Vendor Prepared) - Acrobat v4.01 (press optimized); composite CYMK; all fonts embedded; 300 dpi bitmaps.
Unacceptable File Formats
Other file types, such as PDF (created on desktop), Postscript, or native applications such as Quark, Indesign, Pagemaker, Illustrator, Freehand, etc. are unacceptable because they introduce many possibilities for error.
Proof Specifications
Kodak Approval; Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone; or Progressive press proofs. All contract proofs must be made according to SWOP standards. Proofs that do not meet SWOP criteria will be used for color break only. In addition, please supply two content (laser) proofs which are an identical match to the furnished file. NOTE: This will allow HFM to ensure content integrity.
Acceptable Media
CD or Mass Transit FTP. FTP guest instructions will be emailed to you upon request. Your files can be sent to us within minutes.
Note: An accompanying Contract proof must follow the next business day.
Ink Specifications
4/C process. Match colors available. BINDING SPECIFICATIONS: Perfect bound; jog to foot.

NOTE: All material will be held for one year from date of last insertion and then destroyed unless directed otherwise. Failure to meet stated specification may cause additional handling and cost which will be rebilled to the advertiser.
NOTE: Since out-of-specification material could negatively impact the quality of reproduction, all advertising material furnished out-of-specifications will result in an additional charge of $150.00
