Donna Warner

Vice President/Brand Content and Editor-in-Chief, Metropolitan Home

As Vice President, Editor-in-Chief/Brand Content of Metropolitan Home, Donna Warner has been with the magazine since its inception as Apartment Ideas (1969), then Apartment Life (197l) and finally Metropolitan Home in 1981. She has served as Editor-in-Chief since 1992, when the magazine was purchased by Hachette. Under Donna’s leadership and direction, Metropolitan Home has become regarded as the chronicle of contemporary American design. It has always been the first to report the latest trends and the hottest products, as well as the work of the world’s top designers and architects.

From 1976-1990, Donna served as food and design editor, then editorial design director at Apartment Life and then Metropolitan Home. In these roles, she shaped and balanced the look and content of all major design, architecture, renovation and garden stories and created the magazine’s trend-setting food editorial which revolutionized restaurant and home cooking coverage. She began her editorial career at Better Homes and Gardens in 1969 and later left the magazine to do freelance home furnishings writing.

In 1981, Donna co-wrote “The New American Cuisine” which was published by Harmony Books. She was also the recipient of the Home Furnishings Council Editor of the Year Award and Project Angel Food’s Humanitarian Award.
